October brought two big new Korean dramas that everyone seems to be talking about: a gritty medical noir on SBS and a 1930s spy romance on tvN. If you’re looking for something new to watch, here’s a quick guide to both.
Last updated: October 20, 2026. Titles and streaming availability vary by region.

Premiered: October 9, 2026
Genre: Medical noir
Kim Ji-won plays Gye Su-jeong, a freelance surgeon who is sent by a doctor placement agency to a university hospital dominated by ego and corruption. Armed with exceptional surgical skill, she takes on the so-called “white-coat mafia” that controls the hospital.
The drama is a Korean adaptation of the Japanese series Doctor-X. The cast also includes Lee Jung-eun, Son Hyun-joo and Kim Woo-seok. It has also been linked to SBS’s “Taxi Driver” and “Agent Kim Reactivated” universe, so fans of those dramas may enjoy spotting the connections.

2. 100 Days of Deception (tvN)
Premiered: October 10, 2026

It’s 1932 Gyeongseong (now Seoul), under Japanese colonial rule. Lee Ga-kyung (played by Kim Yoo-jung) is a skilled pickpocket who dreams of reaching America. She is recruited by an independence group to go undercover as an interpreter trainee inside the colonial government. She has 100 days to gather information and help an assassination plan.
Things get complicated when she grows close to Kim Tae-woong, also known as Sato Hideo (played by Park Jin-young), an elite interpreter who is the adopted son of a powerful official. The drama is tvN’s 20th anniversary project and is available on Netflix in many regions. It’s sometimes translated as “100 Days of Lies.”
